Description

Life at the Bar - a presentation by a practising judge

Tonight we have an interesting, fascinating and quite unusual talk by our special guest, Judge Joseph Cross He was called to the Bar by the Inner Temple and built up a career as a criminal defence barrister working up through traffic offences, shoplifting, assaults and frauds to defending murder cases at the Old Bailey. In the nineties work turned to Family Law and he became a specialist in the financial consequences of divorce and relationship breakdowns, as well as cases alleging negligent handling of those cases by solicitors. In 2008 he was appointed a district judge in the county court system and moved on to the specialist financial remedies unit of London's Central Family Court. Along the way he came across many extraordinary people and situations, some appalling and some amusing. And quite a lot of blood and money!
